Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows, PT I

To see or not to see, that is the question.

As usual, there are the grumpy movie critics complaining about the movies lack of risks and new material, but on the other hand, the faithfulness to the book has brought mile wide grins to the faces of all the bookworms out there.

As for real people, not fluffed up old men who's seemingly valuable opinion has granted them the title of  "Movie Critic", my friends are all raving.
Yes, they say it is definitely darker than previous movies, but in a  "good way", they were quick to assure me. Almost all I have spoken to claim it is the best Harry Potter movie yet, and the only person who disliked it at all was my friend Kasi, who is as easily frightened as a rabbit when it comes to movies.

So I have indeed come to this final conclusion:

To see!

Review- Maximum Ride Series

Yep.
They were fun.
Yep.
They were hilarious.
Yep.
I was clinging on every word.
Yep.
I was unable to set the book down.

Until the third one at least. That's when I began to get that odd wave of deja vu, accompanied by the seemingly amazing ability to predict what was about to happen next.
I struggled through, trying to force myself to "OH-no!" when the Erasers swooped down and kidnapped Angel...again. I tried to feel sorry for the flock when they were captured and put in The School.....again. I put forth immense amounts of willpower attempting to cling on to Max's ever-so-slowley progressing relationship with Fang as they kissed and then drifted apart....again. I even tried to follow every blow with fierce intensity as Max battled her double to the "death".....you guessed it, again!
By the forth book, I really TRIED to read it, tedious as may be, until I read the series list and found out there were four more published  and many more in the making.

Sorry, it was stretched wayyyy too thin to keep my attention.

What I Learned Today (and by reading this, you're learning it too)

 GENES!

today I learned about dominant and recessive genes!
did you know brown hair is dominant?
blond hair is recessive?

homozygote- two of the SAME genotypes (TT or tt)

heterozygote- two DIFFERENT genotypes (Tt)

phenotype- your physical features, decided by your genotypes

genotype- code for the type of genes you have and whether they are dominant or recessive using uppercase and lowercase letters. (Tt, TT, tt )

Three Wee Bits of Knowledge (+ a dog with highly questionable sanity)

1. Karaoke means "empty orchestra" in Japanese.

2.        The human brain uses approximately as much energy as a 10 watt light bulb

3. The warmest temperature ever recorded on Antarctica was 3 degrees (Fahrenheit)

I really wanted to use this picture, but I couldn't really think of a way to incorporate it, so here, here's a picture to remind you when you're losing faith, "theres always a dog weirder than yours, no matter how odd your dog may be."

Book Review- Night by Elie Wiesel

When I first picked up this book, I'll admit, I had my doubts. Sure, the reviews were great, but I secretly scoffed at the idea that such a slim volume could truly wield the artistry and sheer power it was claimed to. Guess what?

    I was wrong.

This book's 109 pages flawlessly recount the true tale of Elie's horrifying account of the holocaust. This haunting autobiography stands as a reminder and dire warning that grants the reader terrifying insight into the atrocity of human nature.

    A Motivational Thought

what is the next thing you have to do?

    get it? a computer potato?
go to the bank? write a check? grocery shop?
you spend (about)  HALF of your life on the computer and or tv.

    incredible huh?

    more like incredibly sad.

    now get off!

go read with your daughter, go to the movies, settle down with a book, or you could just go grocery shopping.

seriously. you shouldn't even still be reading this.

c'mon. really? just press off. (also known as the mean button that makes your pretty computer go bye-bye.)
